Several weeks ago an old friend from high school called to ask if I would consider doing her wedding photography. We found each other on one of the social networking sites and we’ve become really great friends again after all these years and she’d already invited me to the wedding. The idea of being responsible for her wedding photography made me nervous, but she assured me that she wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t an emergency. Apparently the person she’d hired to do the wedding photography had a family emergency and they had to cancel. She offered to pay me, and I wouldn’t take any money from her, but in the end I did agree. I’m extremely nervous about it, but I’ve ordered some great new lenses that are good for portraits and wedding photography and that should help a great deal. At least I hope it does. I know I’m a decent photographer, but weddings make me nervous. Being completely responsible for the photographs that capture their special day is almost more pressure than I want to deal with, but she’s a friend in need, so I can’t say no.
